Good Evening to all the Donvale Cricket Club family.
Welcome back to cricket, young and old.
This will be a season like no other. A lot of work has been going on behind the scenes as we have been preparing for the good news of last night. We are prepared. We are nearly ready to bowl the first ball. Are you ready? The Senior season starts on the 14th of November 2020.
Lots of positive changes. A brand new Committee has been sworn in with two great new additions, we have a new Senior Coach, some new players, only a few necessary departures, a new Head Junior Coach, an old Net Captain, a Covid team under Liam McAlary, a new cricket administration, a new Chairman of Selectors and most of our Senior players returning from last season.
Lots of new Junior players after a very successful season last year are welcomed with open arms [ Covid safely] and will be included in our future plans and our rebuild. Exciting times ahead.
I look forward to meeting all. We are a club who has embraced necessary change. We are built on mutual respect and care for one another.
My message tonight is simple and short. Strap yourselves in for a wonderful new season.
Please get involved and stay connected on the Team App as upcoming training sessions and news will be posted here. Download the Team App on your phone from the Apple/Google Play store and search for Donvale Cricket Club and request access.
This season for the Seniors will be made up of 14 One Day games plus finals and we await our Junior Fixtures which Mara Laurie will announce as soon as they are provided. ECA fixtures can be found on the ECA website.
All Senior players are to re-register please. Senior training is unofficially open tomorrow night but Official training for both Seniors and Juniors starts next Tuesday night at 4.00 pm for Juniors and 5.00 pm for everyone else.
All Senior players are to participate in the Covid examination. It takes twenty minutes to do the exam. If I can do it you can and must do it, for our clubs protection.
